Against all odds

Hello All,

I have absconded for long periods of time but trust me, bad luck has been following me around like a shadow! And fighting all odds, this project (after a lost phone, two migraines and an eye-injury) has won..........I have managed to finish this seemingly jinxed project and I will pat myself on the back for this.

This project is unique in many aspects.......I have written the poem myself and this is one of my all time favourites! I've used a hand-made paper printed background for the first time. I have tons of these beautiful papers but I could never figure out how to use them. This time, I've taken a chance and I like the finished product :) The 'leaves' are hand-cut, from paper remaining as side strips from my visiting card printing. The paper cutting guy gave me a weird look for wanting to save an inch wide strip! But what the hell, I have used them and I love the way they turned out to be! The styrofoam balls were almost an afterthought and I looooove the way they give the 'ripe berry branch' effect to the project. The pink daisies around the text will remain in my memory because my punch has given way after them! :D I will miss my daisy punch and I hope I will be able to replace it soon.......

Thanks dear S, for placing this order and I hope you like what I have made :) I'll send it to you soon.....

Some new beginnings (and hopefully, long innings) :)

 Hello All,

I had been looking at the amazing works done by some phenomenal artists and, in the middle of my crazy schedule of workshops, I have miraculously managed to squeeze in this card. It is for a very special person and I hope she likes it too :)

This is a beginning with many new things: I've done paper cutting like that for the first time. The leaves were cut in paper and then, given black background from behind. I've used a "tile" pattern for the first time (I had this punch for more than 2 months but could never figure out how to put it to use :) Thanks to Nupur Priya, I now intend to use it regularly :)

I have a workshop day after and I am so looking forward to it. It's in my second home, Bangalore!!!!! Bangalore, here I come.......I will be a bit inactive for next one week but I hope to return with some good things.........hopefully, some new things as well :)

....still can't take my eyes off you.........

Hello All,

This is a post really close to my heart and I dedicate it to Meg Crawford, who finally brought about the inspiration for this card. Her purple papers (I no longer am worried that I may not get them!) motivated me into creating this unusual card........something I wouldn't otherwise do :)

This card is dedicated to all those women out there (like me!) who believe in asking their Mr. Right out :) I asked mine and well, I am happily married to him, a lovely baby and a life I wouldn't trade for any other! :)

Thanks a ton Meg! Her "Card for a Man" challenge got me going...........and (after a sleepless night over the concept) here is my creation for it :) Though very belated, here is my B'day wish for him! I still can't take my eyes off him! ;)

This isn't exactly a card that involves any tricky quilling or any skill, for that matter. I've used a mixture of sketch-pen, paper cutting and quilling to get here. My inspiration (please don't laugh) was a set of false eye-lashes I saw in the market the other day! :D

Tail end of workshops

Hello All,

What an eventful summer vacation this has been! I was on my toes literally, trying to catch up with the number of workshops, at home, in a Summer camp and outstation! Phew! Tomorrow and day after are the last two of an intensive Kids' class schedule and I have mixed feelings about it. I will miss the kids, their smiles, whisperings, creativity, totally out-of-the-box ideas..........but well, they need to get back to school! And me, to finishing my orders!

Some images from my workshops :)

Here are some small things I managed to squeeze in, in the middle of all the maddening workshop schedules.....

Hope to return soon with more :)
